The Benefits of Sea Buckthorn Oil for Skin
Unfortunately, I have had to deal with skin inflammation and hyperpigmentation for about 15 years due to eczema. It seems like I have tried pretty much every steroid, steroid cream and allergy medicine out there. However, I wasn’t getting lasting results and definitely not quick results. When I would have an eczema flare up, my skin would become itchy, inflamed and discolored (hyperpigmentation). Typically, I have to get the itching under control first, and then I could work on the inflammation and hyperpigmentation. I was able to create a skin oil that dealt with the discoloration but not necessarily the inflammation. Inflamed skin is raised and not smooth to touch or to the eye.
I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered Sea Buckthorn Oil. I used it on my inflamed skin during an eczema flare up and noticed that by the next day, the inflammation was going down. I continued to use it and realized that the dark spots on my skin from the eczema had started to brighten. I then started using the oil as a stand alone moisturizer after washing my face and realized that my skin appeared smoother and the tone was more even.
While this oil is quite expensive compared to other carrier oils, in my opinion, it is worth it.
